National Geographic Debuts Collaboration with Karün Eyewear

National Geographic just launched a partnership with sustainable Chilean eyewear brand Karün, on a new collection of sustainable eyewear made with recycled materials.

Nat Geo by Karün features over 60 different styles of sunglasses and eyeglasses, now available for purchase. The collection is divided into three categories: Urban, Outdoor and Sports.

Karün is an eyewear brand based in Patagonia, Chile and was established to offer high-quality eyewear that represents a different way of looking at the world.

The brand, founded in Patagonia, Chile, is a purpose-driven company, making a partnership with National Geographic a natural fit. Karün is striving to protect nature by listening and learning from the wise advice of indigenous tribes, working alongside local rural communities and empowering them to protect their territory, and inspiring people to start looking at the world from a different point of view, one in which “we are all nature.”

The partnership is based on a shared love for exploration and the never ending stories they inspire—a global collaboration for change—featuring a collection of high-quality sunglasses and eyeglasses made from natural, noble and recycled materials sourced from local communities and rural entrepreneurs in Patagonia, such as recycled fishing nets, recycled metals and other discarded nylon.

We want this collaboration to serve as inspiration for new generations to look for more ways to protect nature and its people.
