National Geographic Receives Four National Magazine Award Nominations

The American Society of Magazine Editors announced nominations for the 2021 National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media during a special Twittercast, and National Geographic earned four nominations in the Digital Storytelling, Design, Single-Topic Issue and Social Media categories.  

The nominations highlight the breadth of National Geographic’s storytelling abilities, from our iconic print magazine to its wildly popular social platforms.

The awards, called the Ellies for the elephant-shaped statue given to winners, are administered by the American Society of Magazine Editors in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

National Geographic was nominated for Ellie Awards in the following categories:

This year, 231 media organizations submitted entries for the 56th annual Ellie Awards. There were 440 print, 595 digital and 127 multiplatform entries total. The finalists were chosen by a panel of 280 editors, art directors, photo editors and educators.

Ellie Award winners will be announced at a virtual presentation on June 10.
