National Geographic Partners With Lacoste on New Collection

National Geographic partnered with Lacoste on a new capsule collection inspired by the National Geographic Photo Ark project. This new collaboration, which aims to celebrate the splendor of the animal kingdom and inspire action to help save wildlife, features men’s, women’s and children’s wear.

The clothing collection is now available and features the dazzling coats and scales of four species including the Pennant Dragonfly, Zebra, Poisonous Dart Frog and Jaguar.

To craft this collection, Lacoste found inspiration from award-winning photographer and National Geographic Fellow Joel Sartore’s Photo Ark archive of over 10,500 species.

The National Geographic Photo Ark is a long-term effort to document every species living in the world’s zoo’s aquariums and wildlife sanctuaries. The project, and in turn this new collaboration, pays homage to the earth and all of its wonder and serves as a call to action to remind of the importance of conservation.

In addition to the eye-catching prints inspired by endangered species, all of the material within the collection is eco-responsible. From the recycled polyester of the bags to the organic cotton of the polos and the natural rubber outsoles on the footwear, this collection is a harmonious balance of stylish and sustainable.

A few standout pieces include classic t-shirts with customized printed croc motifs, polos covered entirely in bold Jaguar, Zebra and Frog prints as well as stylish tote bags and sneakers with eye-catching details.

The Lacoste partnership is the latest example of how National Geographic is further connecting audiences to the Photo Ark project through consumer products. Joel Sartore’s striking images have been featured in a wide range of merchandise including clothes, shoes, hats, calendars, books and puzzles. Photo Ark has also been at the center of several other major brand collaborations such as Vans, Clarks, GAP Kids, and Zara.
